Glass Polishing Base for Electrode Polishing
Product Overview
The Glass Polishing Base is a durable laboratory polishing platform designed for precise electrode surface polishing. Manufactured from high-quality glass, the base provides a flat, stable, and easy-to-clean surface for electrode polishing procedures.
It is widely used in electrochemical laboratories for polishing glassy carbon electrodes, platinum electrodes, gold electrodes, and other metal electrodes prior to electrochemical experiments.
The polishing base can be used together with polishing cloths, sandpaper, diamond suspension, or alumina polishing powders, ensuring reliable and consistent polishing results.
Key Features
Premium Glass Construction
Made from high-quality glass, the polishing base offers excellent durability and chemical resistance while maintaining a smooth and stable polishing surface.
Stable Polishing Platform
The flat glass plate ensures consistent contact between the electrode and polishing surface, improving polishing accuracy and repeatability.
Compatible with Various Polishing Materials
Suitable for use with polishing cloths, abrasive papers, alumina powders, and diamond polishing suspensions.
Designed for Laboratory Electrode Preparation
Ideal for preparing electrodes before electrochemical testing, ensuring a clean and smooth electrode surface.
Easy Maintenance
The glass surface can be easily cleaned after use, making it convenient for repeated laboratory polishing tasks.
Typical Applications
The glass polishing base is commonly used in:
•Glassy carbon electrode polishing
•Platinum electrode polishing
•Gold electrode polishing
•Disk electrode preparation
•Electrochemical electrode surface cleaning
•Materials science sample preparation
Operation Steps
Step 1 – Prepare the Polishing Surface
Attach the polishing cloth onto the glass plate. Add a small amount of polishing powder and several drops of distilled water onto the polishing cloth.
Step 2 – Polish the Electrode
Hold the disk electrode vertically and polish the surface using circular or figure-eight motions for approximately 30 seconds to 2 minutes.
Step 3 – Clean the Electrode
After polishing, rinse the electrode thoroughly with distilled water and dry before electrochemical testing.
Advantages
Compared with conventional polishing surfaces, the glass polishing base provides:
•Stable and flat polishing surface
•Improved polishing consistency
•Easy cleaning and maintenance
•Long service life under repeated laboratory use
Maintenance Tips
After polishing, clean the glass base immediately to remove any residual polishing powder or abrasive particles. This prevents residue buildup that may affect future polishing performance.
